RALEIGH, N.C. (March 27, 2017) – A second so-called “Constitutional Carry” bill that would make it legal for most North Carolinians to carry a firearm without a license, and foster an environment hostile to federal gun control, has been filed in the North Carolina House.
A Washington city councilmember has proposed a Second Amendment Proclamation in response to calls for bans on semi-automatic rifles. Although it concerns a state proposal and would have no legal teeth, the proclamation encapsulates the spirit of anti-commandeering that citizens can use to fight attempts to restrict their right to keep and bear arms from unconstitutional federal gun control laws.
After every mass shooting in American there are calls by gun control advocates to implement stricter gun control laws and restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms under the rationale that it is necessary to prevent similar murders in the future.
